YouTube Video: Coming Soon in 2025 – Channel Update

Transcript:

Hey everyone! It has been a minute. In December, I decided to take a break from YouTube, my blog, and all the other social media things in order to get myself in a strong place for the start of 2025.

There are a lot of awesome things I have planned for this year, including a few YouTube series about writing and the subject of English. In 2025, I’ll be focusing on creating resources which I hope will be incredibly useful for both writers and English teachers, covering everything from writing techniques to understanding literature. Let me give you a sneak peek into what’s coming:

Hi, I’m C. Sloan Lewis and Welcome to my Channel

The first series will be “Unpacking Common Writing Tips”

In this series, I’ll take popular writing advice like “show, don’t tell” and break it down. What does it really mean? How can you apply it to your writing? And what might it not mean? We’ll dig into the nuances so these tips are no longer vague or confusing and can actually help you in your writing.

The second series will be “Mastering English Class”

This series will cover essential English class topics, like analyzing literature, understanding grammar, and unpacking literary devices. Whether you’re a student who wants to catch up, a writer filling gaps in your English knowledge, or a teacher looking for fresh resources, this series is for you. Think of it as a low budget CrashCourse—because let’s face it, we teachers need to support each other!

And the third series will be “Breaking Down Genres”

This series will help writers confidently identify their genre, understand what the market expects, and learn how genres are used to sell books. For readers, it’s a chance to decode what genre labels really mean and how publishers use them to guide your choices.

But that’s not all!

I’m also transforming my blog into a hub for writers and English teachers. Posts will focus on specific topics—starting with fundamentals like character and worldbuilding, then diving into more complex ideas, like how theater enhances narrative voice or how video games inspire interactive storytelling.

So be sure to stay tuned for all that! I am excited to be able to share what I’ve learned about these topics with people across the country and around the world. There are only so many students I can teach in a year, so I love that we live in an age where I can reach way more people than just my classroom.

If this all sounds interesting to you, be sure to like and subscribe and possibly even click the bell so you get notified as soon as I post a new video.

But that’s all from me today! You’ve got some writing to do, and I’ll see you in the next video!
