On Saturday, I officially started training as a book coach by enrolling in the Author Accelerator’s book coaching program. This is a self-paced coarse with a nine-month deadline, and I am planning on completing it in six months, by the end of April 2025.
My goal is to have it done before the lighter summer months when my schedule typically dips in hours, so I can build up my coaching business during that time. Depending on how well that goes, I may be able to drop to part-time as a teacher in order to focus on coaching writers and building my business.
There is a ton of work ahead of me, but I am so excited for it. Over the past six months, I have stepped into many in-person and online writing communities, and I am enthralled by all the amazing and creative work being done. Not only do I want to be a part of that as a writer, but also as a coach who supports those writers. I want to see them thrive!
The type of writer I look forward to working with most are the ones who STRUGGLE. Being a writer is filled with so many struggles, and I want to help writers get through those obstacles.
Whether it’s the challenge of developing an idea, finishing a manuscript, finding an agent, or anything in between, I want to be there for them and help them over the frustrating hurdles all writers have to face. While all writers may have to face these struggles, they need not face them alone. That’s were book/writing coaches come in.
Well, I better end it there because I have videos to watch, books to read, and exercises to complete for my certification. Thanks for reading!
